UNDP in Azerbaijan works to promote effective governance and sustainable development and is also active in the areas of gender equality and post-conflict rehabilitation and disaster-risk reduction. Effective governance is the priority for UNDP whose support encompasses a wide array of interventions from improving the work of civil service, to e-governance and improvement of connectivity of the remotest corners of Azerbaijan. UNDP interventions for Sustainable development support Azerbaijan in mitigating the effects of climate change, especially in highly vulnerable mountainous areas, improving capacity to develop alternative sources of energy as well as management of protected areas and ecosystems.
