Wageworkers in Azerbaijan’s economy see 11% growth in salaries

In January-February 2022, the average monthly salary of hired workers in the economy amounted to 768.3 manats, up 11% from the previous year, banks.az informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

As of March 1, 2022, the number of wage workers in the economy climbed by 3,600 people, or 0.2%, to 1,682,100. Of them, 902,500 people were in the state sector, 779,600 - in the private sector.

Among the hired workers, 19.8% occupied positions in education, 18.8% in trade; repair of transport vehicles, 12.7% in the industrial sector, 8.1% in medical and social services provided to the population, 7% in construction, 6.7% in state management and defense; social security, 4.4% in transport and storage, 3.5% in professional, scientific and technical activity, 3.4% in agriculture, forestry and fishery, 1.9% in finance and insurance, 13.7% - other economic spheres.
