Number of payment cards in circulation increased by 255,000 cards

The number of payment cards in circulation through the systems of banks and Azerpocht LLC increased by 255,000 cards at the end of April compared with last month and amounted to 17.676 million cards.

Compared with the 2023 same term, this figure increased by 22.2%, banks.az reports with reference to the Central Bank. The growth of payment cards was 22.9% for debit cards and 17.5% for credit cards.

The growth of payment cards has had positive impact on non-cash payments.

Thus, during the month, the volume of non-cash transactions within the country increased 1.9-fold compared with the same term of 2023. In April 2024, the volume of non-cash payments within the country made using cards amounted to 6.147 million manats.

E-commerce accounts for 5.149 million manats of non-cash payments.
