As of 1 July 2021 there were 2,867 cash machines (ATMs) and 60,381 POS-terminals in the country, which means an increase of 8.9% and 8.1%, respectively, compared with the same term of last year, banks.az reports with reference to the Central Bank.
As of 1 July 2020 the number of POS-terminals accepting contactless payments amounted to 52.9% of the total number of POS-terminals, while for the same period of this year this figure was 64.9%.
There is also a rise in the number of payment terminals, including ATMs. Thus, by the end of the 1st half of 2021 the number of ATMs installed by banks increased by 8% compared with the relevant period of last year and amounted to 2,867 ones, and the number of payment terminals by 17% up to 1,978 ones.
